Charles Webb is Dean Emeritus of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Southern Methodist University and his doctoral degree in music from Indiana University. He maintains an active performance schedule as a conductor and pianist and serves as a judge for international music competitions throughout the world.

Alex Bonnet is  a faculty member at the Conservatoire in Amsterdam and the Twente Academy of Music in Enschede, the Netherlands; former principal harp of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and the Forum Opera; and founding member of the internationally reputed Keros Ensemble, along with violinist Angel Gimeno and mezzo-soprano Gabrielle Mulder. The trio has traveled extensively, performing in France, Germany, Spain, England, Finland, Israel, India, Taiwan, and at World Harp Congresses in Paris, Copenhagen, and Prague.

Marisela Gonzales is Professor at the Universidad Simon Bolivar in Venezuela; featured soloist with the Orquesta Sinfonica Venezuela, Boston Civic Orchestra, Tel Aviv Chamber Orchestra, Istanbul Chamber Orchestra, and other ensembles. Ms. Gonzalez was a prize-winner at the 8th Israel International Harp Competition and was an invited performer at World Harp Congresses in Paris-Sevres, France, and Seattle, Washington, and Prague. She is an active commissioner of new harp music, particularly among contemporary Latin American composers.

Ruth Inglefield is Professor of Harp at the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, Maryland. Known internationally as a soloist, teacher, and adjudicator, she studied with Marcel Grandjany at Juilliard and later earned a Premier Prix from the Paris Conservatory and a Ph. D. in musicology from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Dr. Inglefield was formerly principal harpist with the Toledo Symphony and the Toledo Opera Orchestra and has performed widely in Europe. She is the author of books on Grandjany and on harp notation, articles on historical and pedagogical topics, transcriptions for harp, and a teaching series for children.

Ms. Kanga is Senior Professor of Harp and Head of Harp Studies at the Royal Academy of Music. Born in India, her professional career began in the BBC Concert Orchestra and led to her performing under such eminent conductors as Maazel, Mehta, Barenboim, Previn, Solti, Klemperer, Rattle, and others. Ms. Kanga has worked with numerous individual artists including Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Elton John, Luciano Pavarotti, Joan Sutherland, Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras, and Kiri Te Kanawa. Ms. Kanga has always been very active in the recording world, having played with artists including Paul McCartney, Sarah Brightman, Bjork, and Sting, and on dozens of film scores. Her most recent classical recordings include Lieberman’s Flute Concertos with James Galway and the London Mozart Players and works by Tchaikovsky and Sibelius with Neville Marriner and the Academy of St. Martin Orchestra, of which Ms. Kanga is the principal harpist.

Dr. Carrol McLaughlin is Professor of Harp at the University of Arizona and director of the international touring ensemble, HarpFusion. After earning her master’s degree at The Juilliard School, she completed a Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Arizona, where she served as teaching assistant to Susann McDonald. Dr. McLaughlin has performed extensively as a soloist and with orchestras throughout Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, India, North and South America, and Europe. She was featured as the opening recitalist at the World Harp Congress in Copenhagen and at the American Harp Society’s national conference in Denver, Colorado, and has performed at numerous other festivals around the world.

Chantal Mathieu is an internationally renowned concert artist and teacher, and Professor of Harp and Chamber Music at the Lausanne Music Academy in Switzerland. Ms. Mathieu has garnered numerous awards, including first prizes at the International Harp Competitions in Israel and Paris, and second prize at the Geneva International Competition. Passionately fond of expanding the repertoire for harp, she has transcribed numerous pieces, including works by J. S. Bach, C.P.E. Bach, and W.A. Mozart. Ms. Mathieu can be heard on several recordings, including a recent CD dedicated to the works of Marcel Tournier. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the World Harp Congress, which has chosen her to chair the upcoming 8th World Harp Congress in Geneva in 2002.
